Team Kumite Scoreboard
A team kumite match is a series of individual bouts — fighter one versus fighter one, fighter two versus fighter two — with the team taking the most bouts winning the match. Taikai App runs each bout on the full kumite scoreboard while tracking the team picture above it.
Match structure
Team size comes from your event configuration: a three-person team event produces three bouts per team match. The lineups come from the teams' declared rosters, and each bout is a complete kumite match in its own right — its own timer, scores, penalties, and senshu, identical to individual kumite scoring.
Operating the scoreboard
The team strip above the scoreboard shows the current state at a glance:
- Team tally — bouts won by each team so far
- Bout indicator — which bout of the series is on the mat (with dots marking completed bouts and their winners)
- Current fighters — the two competitors from each lineup fighting now
The operator scores the live bout exactly as usual and declares its winner; the tally increments, the timer resets, and the next pair from each lineup loads automatically. There's no separate team math to keep on paper — the strip is the team score.
Deciding the match
The team with the majority of bout wins takes the match — two of three in a three-person format. The result is recorded against the team bracket and the winning team advances, just as an individual would.
Tied series: federations resolve tied team matches differently (total points across bouts, or a deciding extra bout). When your rule set requires a decider, run it as the final bout and declare its winner — the bout record preserves exactly how the match was decided.
